Mission Statement

The mission of the East Topeka Senior Center (ETSC) is to provide direct services to senior citizens and adults with disabilities so they may achieve and maintain an optimum level of physical, nutritional, social and mental functioning.  ETSC initiates and supports the development of systems that deliver a full range of services focused on helping this population maintain their dignity and independence.



Transportation to: Medical Appointments, Grocery Shopping, and to and from the Center.

Recreation: Ceramics, Arts and Crafts, Exercise Classes, Musical entertainment, Group Activities.

Meals: Noon meals Monday through Friday, Commodity distribution site for Senior Commodities and the Emergency Food Assistance Program, Nutritional Bingo.

Education: Informational meetings and presentations

Health Promotion: Blood pressure and sugar checks, Medication reviews, Mental health checks.

Eligibility for Services: Services are available to all citizens age 60 and over, spouses of persons 60 and over, and adults with disabilities.

Fees: There is no fee for transportation, but a donation per ride is requested to help offset the costs. Meals are provided for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses, regardless of spouse's age. Eligible persons are encouraged to make a contribution to help defray the meal cost. No one will be denied a meal because of the lack of ability to pay.
